Eraser gone
From words mistaken.
Lips are still
Hands are tied
Tears are just so far away, and,

I still have to live today…

Fetal point
And on the couch.
The cries of others echo.
Screams of them
Ring through my bones,
I answer each with abject groans.

Irony is living
When the ones I love most die.

Pain is always giving
And I always want to cry.

My hands ache too much to write
My body feels what I don’t.

…But letters just won’t speak
Like I want them to say,
My body's getting weak, and

I still have to live today…
