My mother tells me
She smells decay
As we walk
To the car,
Getting ready to go
Anywhere but here.

I tell her
It smells like snow.

This is my favorite time of year.
When fall is dying,
And winter is being born.
Mournfull to see the colors go,
Excited that soon
You'll look up
And see the psychedelic pattern
Of snow
Zig-zagging down.

Not yet sick of the cold
Nor craving green.

Tears and smiles
Are the best lovers.

I would love to once see snow and the glitter I hear it has when the moon shines on it. I live too far south in Tx so I've never seen this except in pictures and in words. At best we just get a cooler fall. But no snow.

Tell ya what, for all of you who don't get snow...I'll trade places with you for the winter. LOL I'll be sick of all the white in a couple months anyway

(smiles) Oh Lauren, this is gorgeous, sweet friend, though winter is not necessarily my favorite season, I do love the snow coming in every once in a while when it is a desert out here!
