Midnight, beyond the startle of strike
that drowns the tick.  The embers of
what raged in flicker, now terminally ill,
a wisp of smoke from a once flat piece of
parchment lightly smouldering...if but a
breeze would touch the single glow...then...

He had risen from his nap, sensing the fragrance
of her perfume, still lingering, arousing his
senses....bringing a smile, a devilish smile to
his face.

Wherefore art thou, my Queen?  Hath
thee now found thy rest?  Is I, thy
king who stirs the eve before the
broken light of dawn.

He often though this way, embellishing
her with the spoken jewels of chivalry and
imagined courtesan ways of what once was...
She smiled wryly upon his whisper,
stirring the bloods...

Ahh, but to have those moments again of
lofts and meadows, of streams and falls,
of moments when a kiss lingered into
the cosmos of time, waking the
constellations.   Does she know of his
stirring,   the passion that seldom
ebbs or trickles into their streams of
such sweet sensuality?

Humming now, for this was his muse
awakening, whispering verse into an
ear slightly deaf to what might otherwise
be heard....particularly by her.

A soft chuckle, a deft stab of the well,
a slender droplet torn from the tip and
left to flow slowly downward into
the darkness of creativity.

Writing slowly, methodically....a tune
dancing his tongue....the birth of
a jewel awaits the chime of time
as time past streaks the heaven
of a page, now drying, waiting
for the dawn.

Barry, dear man

"A soft chuckle, a deft stab of the well,
a slender droplet torn from the tip and
left to flow slowly downward into
the darkness of creativity."

you do know how to weave!

Barry,
My God this is beautiful

She smiled wryly upon his whisper,
stirring the bloods...

the entire thing . . . a masterpiece
