The Edge Of Winter by Jaime Fradera It is evening. The sun is setting In an empty winter sky. And it is very quiet. I sit On A high, precarious exposure, drinking in the cool night air. It tastes and smells frosty and sweet, I can almost eat it. The air is bracing and Bone-dry It is tinged With the bitter paralyzing cold of elevation. And it tells me of boundless windy heights, Where people have to wear protective suits And carry their own oxygen to breathe. And there seems to be absolutely nothing Between me and interplanetary space. And it feels good. Jaime |
