Moved from a shack to a barn

We were
as it would happen
well met

Upon opening the door
in greeting

We had faced the possibility
that all was not
as we had hoped

That within that first embrace
there could be
awkward angles
and difficult edges

And the chance
that eyes would shine, doubt

But
as it would happen
we were very well met

Indeed

Great writing Ed, I could not be happier for you two, and you both shine in your writing of each other.

It's good to see this, to know that the ole hermit has found the missing part of himself.

And good to see your talent as impressive in this kind of expression as it is in just about everything else.

Well done, Ed!
And well written.

Lying before me
for years . .
green velvet carpet
strewn with irregular shapes
cardboard pieces of my life
laughing at me as I grasped
each one slightly
ever so slightly
Attempting to fit them perfectly
into the grooves
of the one before
only failing
succeeding at only the outer edges
a framework
of what was to be my life
sight unseen, fate unknown

The day I opened that door
a palm was held out to me
and within that hand
I glimpsed the piece
THAT piece
missing
the one that left a hole, weeping
upon the green velvet
lain upon my table
smiling
I placed it where it belonged
and before me
outlined
the puzzle finally had been completed

I love you Eddie
you are a beautiful man
Thank you everyone for sharing this
*smiling* at all of you

Baby?

Julia?  you know your brother well

Yup Karen, life is good!

Still smiling here Bro

fate is not just
whose cooking  smells good
but which way the wind blows
