As light now blends the blacks and greys
beyond the gate to marbled maze.
Where souls will prance the matted lawn
and living are lost, now surely gone.

For in the night, of laughing haunt
a spirit looms to flaunt and taunt.
A vision bound by shadow’s fall
to echo a cry, to call, to call.

Hark, does not thy spirit see
the eyes of fright in fear of thee?
Wherein a heart now beats in haste
and time is nigh, too soon erased.

Comes to the crack of broken ground,
as tendrils spread in silent sound.
Where be the flood in crimson red
to cringe the blight in haunted dread.

For now the cauldron bubbles well
in wait the chosen witch’s spell.
And whence the clock is struck of twelve
the tombs of old shall open, delve.

And in the spoon of sipping brew
a howling shall emit the stew.
For when the boil once leaks the soil
the dead shall rise to dreaded toil.

For on the night of Hallow’s preen
the ghastly forms are stalking seen.
And candy fills those waiting hands
before the vampire rises, stands.

Barry,
Well you got me on this one. I never did get into hallucinogenic Hallowe'en. Enjoyed

The Chocolate Monster just tasted your brew.
I have no control of my trusty broom.
If I don't watch out we'll fly into the stew.
The Chcolate Monster has to go find some chocolate to regain her equilibrium.
By for now......

Still laughing about Seymour's comment.  I got interrupted during my reading of this...someone wanting a title?

A wonderful write, Barry.  You know how much I enjoy your spooky side! LOL
