Paper Roses

                                             A gift of endless time
                                                         Telling, of friendship, honor,
                                                                            Loyalty, more

                                             In actuality, real fades, withers, dies,
                                                         Silk is nice, but gathers dust
                                                                            In time

                                             Plastic is not for me,
                                                         But paper roses

                                             Hold a scent,
                                                            Place well beneath a pillow
                                                                            Clasping dreams

                                             Gift me then,
                                                            Paper roses
                                                                            In loyalty.

Paper, plastic, silk or real
The giver's incentive is the deal
For even though petals might fade
A place within our heart is made
Where all bouquets that love has sent
Never lose color, shape or scent.

(big hugggssssssss) No matter how the paper folds, it is still a rose and paper represents just the same as the real thing, as it doesn't wither the same way as seeing something natural wither! This is very beautiful, Karilea. It holds a special meaning for me...some words said long ago, he didn't understand. Yes, paper roses would have made a difference.
