Listening to every heart

Dry Whispers

Someone said let it fall
then he fell, pushed by winds from
                        the north, into

southern arms opened wide
accepting of cool winds from far north
                        patience notwithstanding
                                        this hesitancy

a voice in parched rasp
wanting so much heart to speak
                        only looking, eyes in askance
                                         hear this fall

‘tis a season of dry whispers
           hold the fall in close
                        the leaving will hesitate
                                         and cling tight

Psst! Want to know something? This is wonderful! Thought you'd like it whispered so the baby could sleep! (Wink)

Karilea,

tis a season of dry whispers
           hold the fall in close
                        the leaving will hesitate
                                         and cling tight

This speaks volumes to me.

It's always a pleasure to read you lovely lady.

Karilea...Even though fall is a time for shedding, it also shows growth...I see this in your poetry.  Outstanding!

I came, I read, and then I sat alone in thought...listening to dry whispers.

So lovely, Karilea.

A little bird-like creature pointed me in this direction. (said that there was singular poetry here)

She was right! This is stellar.

ok....you did it again...
add another one to my IWIHWT list.

Someones gotta write em...it aint like my muse will.

You're the color of the sky reflected in each store-front window pane ...
You're the whispering and the sighing of my tires in the rain.

Well if this is not the most beautiful poem of fall I have read in a long time, and I agree with Martie, you are growing in leaps and bounds Karilea, this was lovely.
