Upon the chrysalis of sky
they dip their branches
like foutain pens
into the ink of the heavens,
siphoning sunsets
reclaiming hues that have sunk
like wrinkles on the face of sky,
they are reapers of fate,
a step ahead of the current season
dreaming of the one
that will take the darker days by surprise,
rooted deeply in history
and reaching for the promise of tomorrow,
with bare branches now,
extending beyond the seeing world,
revelling in both pinklace
and comfortable in starkness of total exposure,
eternal survivors
testimonials
to both esctasy and sorrow
breezing through
as just passages of time

Michele:

this is just brilliant . .
perfect stanza

Upon the crysalis of sky
they dip their branches
like foutain pens
into the ink of the heavens,

and this?
leaves do return, m'lady
every season . . .
*smile*
