in the shadows

I looked all over
around about outside me
wishing god was here

O infinite soul
the emptiness appalled me
when I saw the truth

there's no mystery
we are here alone as god
in the void of life

universal will
perfect transcendental form
fills the void of god

in metaphysics
grand words wrap wishful answers
a priori truths

the way is the way
when you seek the path of god
words offer nothing

"split a piece of wood
touch stone and you will find me
I am within you"

no external plan
lends us shelter in the night
we are only god

We should be thankful if god is all we have to be. Human is a lot harder, since humans have to deal with the messes those gods leave behind.
