A Child Sleeps

In the silent darkness
of a quiet, unlit room,
a child sleeps in thoughtlessness,
a child weeps for whom

He thinks that he has hurt in ways
he cannot understand.
His tears cover his pillow,
and stain both of his hands.

Laying there in silence,
overhearing his parents screams,
he wonders if this is his hell.
The yelling echoes in his dreams.

Tomorrow is a new day,
and yet he does not care.
Years from now he'll be the same,
a childhood was lived unfair.

A well written picture of the "sleep" all too many children know.

Welcome to Passions! *S*
