Again I shatter,
my clay brittle from the fire.
Far better to melt....

i adore the poem but the question of whether to break or melt recalls Neil Young's
'..better to burn out then to fade away' and i'm not quite sure what to think

Hmmm...second person who's said something like that.... and it's true. I'd much rather be a meteor than a compost pile......

(sigh) Oh Ed, I feel this way ever so much, sweet friend, I nknow if I burn to ashes my dust is still there, but to fade nothing seems reminiscent! (big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ed, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

After reading the responses, I had to go back and read the poem again... and I'll agree that a meteor definitely sounds better than a compost pile if those are the choices presented for one's destiny. (though it does make me wonder if all those wishes I've made on falling stars were to whoms, not whats. *G*)

But if one is to be melted in arms of passion... or consumed by the conflagration of anger leaving only shards? *G* Give me melt! LOL

Excellent write... I hope I interpreted the sad undercurrents incorrectly. *S*

I would choose a slow melt down any day,
opposed to being shattered to pieces.

Nice write Rat~
