I wish I were a bird
free to feather
my way across the sky

I wish not for lilting cares
with no passion to heat
my imaginings
would that
your touch sent shuddering
eruptions of hot
lava steaming into
my tempestuous sea

today even passion
is not a must
I wish simply for the curve
of my lips to lift
my heavy eyes
for the feel of You
in my heart
to make it sing

waning joy
is what drives this need
in my mind
I slip down
to my knees

what you wish for my friend is understood by many...but not so well said by most... your own way with words has always been something I admire...

you have always sold yourself short...when it came to writing.. and to other things as well.

fall seems to inspire a good many poets... and often reminds us of the coming days when warmth is something we remember or find hiding....

back for another read... and these lines strike me as central to teh whole...and in essence the plea that cries to the reader..and certainly is understood by me....
