You may be a goddess in your world, Now you have crossed over to mine. For it is a world of dark alleys, A place where the sun seldom shines. Yours may have glittering castles, Whose battlements gleam in the sun- But mine is a place of stark shadows, Where wary men carry a gun. You come from a place filled with faeries- As gentle and soft as your breath. But I tread a jungle, a quagmire- My constant companion is death. My humor is dry as the desert- The things I find droll may seem strange. I laugh at life's little ironies, And some people say I'm deranged. And yet I must send you this message, Lady, whatever you do- Watch where you step, and watch what you feel. For danger is waiting for you. |

It's always good to have someone watching out for us. Enjoyed the rhyme and meter, John, thank you! |
