Inside the shadow's shadow

0 posted 2003-10-20 10:13 PM

How can you ignore
The nape of the forest's neck,
Protecting, curling around
Three sides of the pond,
Alive with cheery beings
Floating through the water...

And see those two fish?
Over there in the corner?
They're kissing!

And...
You called it stupid.

But, see over there?
How the sun breaks
Through the clouds
In a perfect stream
Of beaming light...

It makes one think of their Creator,
I remarked.

"I don't believe in a creator,"
You say
As if the word had bitten
Your perfect tongue.

Yes, but...
When we step back
Far back, like this...
And take it all in as one scene,
One breath-taking, word-stealing scene...
Does it not immediately make your lungs
Fill with air?
Does your heart and soul not swell
Close to bursting?
Does your face not take on a wistful
smile,
And a twinkle in your eye
Add a crystal to the clouds?

"No."

But...

Why not??

I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man.

KoKo ~

If you can write like this at your age, I cannot even imagine the great writes that will be spilling from your pen in later years!

(big hugggsssssssss) Oh Lauren, it saddens me so deeply to see many cynics and skeptics in our world and fail to recognize the beauty that others see! (sad sigh) I pray someday the world will be without cynics and skeptics and together we can see the crystals and sugar-coated clouds of the heavens and the beauty of nature all around, yay, God Bless You, this is precious, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lauren, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
