I'm not sure that this is done, it doesn't feel like it. Just random ramblings through the canyons of my mind. Just know that with the mental twists caused by alcoholism and addictions, my freaking mind is out to get me, sober or not. I am, but my mind wants me back off of the Path. My mind loves a rhyme It loves beauty it defines I look forward to each season Poetry flows without reason My grandchildren love me think no one’s above me Little do they know about… My life running riot and rout Or life’s twisted mysteries Or Grandpa’s mystical twisteries Zen Christian mystic meditating Soul on fire thoughts of contemplating Or his mental vagrancy Or his moral vacancy Seeking higher ground Turning once it’s found Living for the moment Thoughtless of pain I foment Matters not as life is kind I am loved by all but my mind © Copyright 2003 Joseph D. Our past actions love to haunt us, don't they? But when we let them go... we breathe a little easier. We are always hardest on ourselves... but I see you're ready to forgive yourself... but you won't, because you think you'll slip backwards. Not with those grandkids watching... nope...you won't. |

Wellll, that's just about as articulate as inarticulation can get! I confess I started reading because of the title, knowing how well you write -- and as usual, stayed for the pleasure. |

This was good, would sound good done as a song, got good timing. I liked the content too, having have survived a couple of addictions reminds me that the cure is really far easier than the alternative. Live like it's your last day... |

Joe...I liked reading the path of your mind...understand myself where you have been. And if you want to join me...being addicted to poetry is a good thing! |

yup Martie, I am still an addict, though my obsession is to write. Being a former mental health professional, I still have that codependent angst to heal others. Maybe I can affect that through my writings. thank you for you comments. |
