I hear the door open
And there he stands
The one I love and want
But I know she's there

He's not mine
And all I can do is look
I pine for you, I do
And why, cause you knew

You knew me that way
No man should
From the inside
And all through

You catch my eyes
But I quickly look away
You can't corner me
Or trick me with your ways

A hand lands on my shoulder
I recognize the touch
So I shy away
And then run

I lock myself up
Not for you today
I am only my own
And for me I will stay

I want him, I know this
But it's simply not right
You belong to another
And it was only one night

As great as it was
And how long for it again
I know that it won't be worth it
So I'm gonna save it in my head
