Listening to every heart

Mellow

Day two of slight-ish vacation,
going nowhere,
doing lots of nothing
as it comes
along

resuscitating…

smoothing out edges, honing
inner ear to sounds
not heard for a long while

like the silence of an alarm clock
or a tock of my heart
in rest

as sound of sheets
reassure a lazy sigh

in this mellowing…

seeing charm in no fuss,
no rush

dressing up
because I want to

enjoying friends without a watch

letting My day seep in
through pores long neglected
of simple
things

by day three I may wonder
what’s going on in that other world
out there…

but for now?

Let me be soothed by harp sounds
striking wind chimes in tune
with redbirds
and doves

and I will welcome you
with tea, and me…

Karilea this is perfectly penned. Monday is my own day number one ...
it is not easy to live at another pace, but to be able to enjoy just BEING is wonderful.
