speak to me,
tell me i'm not crazy,
perhaps just a deviation of a theme,
tell me its okay
to teeter on the madness tightrope,
one toe tapping freedom,
the other settling on complacency and the norm,
i'm a hybrid in the flower kingdom
witout a name, i'm uncluttered,
a hue not found on the breaking sunset,
just an adaption to the role i've been roped onto,
maybe i really am alien afterall,
the familiar is strange,
and the absurd is worn like a right of passage now,
i can come and go with the waterfalls,
i channnel between,
what powers ive accrued with age,
is this only the beginning?
and they don't even know i'm pathless,
i touch down less and less these days,
perhaps to sew seems along a butterfly,
or to grow vicariously with the greenery,
let me walk a freeman in the applefields,
its harvest time and i'm all ripe again with desire,
I have no one to impress there,
no one will undermine me or undress me,
prefix or suffix me,
with misunderstanding of my rhyme,
i can slip off between the leaf spots,
there my word is good enough,
i'm the artist painting among them,
my adhesions here are dissolving now,
does anyone truely know me?
i am wounded, but i love so these badges,
lately though even i don't know,
if exaggeration seizes this damn poetry,
or do I just wear self isolation so well?

Michele .... you shortened my breath with this one .... and of course I picked up those lines where we can breathe together ...

quote:
let me walk free in the applefields,
its harvest time and i'm all ripe with desire

You playing dark lady here. No one does know another perfectly well ... it's great when we can still surprise each other.

Wishing you peace, powerful, beautiful poetess!
Love and hugs. Margherita

"just a deviation of a theme"

Who's theme?  Yours? Then deviation is okay.  Someone else's?  Screw them..deviation is mandatory...

Loved this writing!

i am wounded, but i love the badges,

I like how you don't waste time on the flutter, seems you spread your wings and just keep flying higher~

This was brutally honest, and I loved it!
Nice going girlie~

whew. This is your best, mish.

you KNOW I know this one:

"one toe tapping freedom,
the other settling on complacency and the norm,"

and this:

"let me walk a freeman in the applefields,
its harvest time and i'm all ripe again with desire"

It's all good. It's all real. It's all YOU.

smile...and many of us, methinks.

tossing roses, lady.

this is wonderful and I'm keeping it, if ya don't mind.

Doesn't the heart of darkness always seem to drive our confusion - or does it just seem like that to me?

You may say that you " have no one to impress" but i'm out there and am already impressed!

Take care,

Jeff
