Three Sonnets from a Welsh Lush to a Finnish Princess I We could lie in the dark in the lunar winters Under blankets of lust we would not freeze The sun hits the surface with light splinters It's love cures all of humanity's disease It's love could cure us both of what we ail I'd be yours and you would be mine to please Just push off the dock and I'll set the sail We can drift endless hours and days In the lunar oceans time stands so still Shining stars reflect the love in our eyes Be it true love or just a simple thrill And it should be easy to recognize So what say you? Shall we fly to the moon? Just as soon as you want dear, just as soon. II I saw the first few sparkles of desire You set them smouldering in my dry field They're still there waiting to start our worlds on fire And if the will may soon be revealed My heart has been broken thinking of then And now my heart has more or less been healed I must be careful it won't break again I trust you are a very gentle girl If you don't like the heat don't fan the flame I for one am tired of being cold Enjoy the warmth, sweet girl, there is no shame I truly hope I'm not being too bold So if you are afraid of my desires Only you can prevent forest fires III How gracious I am fate has sent you my way I must take off on these sappy rhymed flights But what, if anything, can a girl say? When a poet has her set in his sights On your sweetness I'm casting my eye Hoping to cast away these lonely nights Perhaps it won't happen, at least I'll try Try as I might love makes no guarantees And in that right should never assure I know the truth: confidence killed the cat And if a love should grow strong and pure Many thoughts must be spent and shared on that Three sonnets, each one sweeter than the last What words and emotions are here amassed |

Well done Jam....I can't write 'them' sonnet thinggies....see: In trying to compose a sonnet As done by the finest of poets, I have to ponder upon it Quite a bit even though it's Simple to write one I've heard Fourteen lines in all The first line rhymes with the third The second and fourth should fall In rhyme in such a way That a-b-ab, etc So on and so forth say Whatever the thought is to be But it never turns out like I want it So what the hell-Pissonnet! |
