I lie awake In my country suburb Wishing I could go To the place that never sleeps To hear the man play on the street, with his unique beat Quiet clinging of quarters being flung Into his red, velvet case as he plays Midnight bustle surrounds I see the late night cafe' windows Man with black hat on stage Poetry spewed out with raw feeling Quiet clapping, bongos tapping Taxis rushing to my side Take me anywhere, over there Hard concrete tapping a beat Right under my feet Smoking fog like a midnight blanket Night time and not day I would do it my way, I gladly say See the unknown elements Explore the unheard thoughts The man alone in the subway Midnight and beyond Take me away To a place that I've never seen To a place that lies awake under my dreams Where street lights and signs break the darkness Like a wild fire disrupting the pitch black of night Take me to that place And I'll take it at my own pace |

Oh that was awesome! I loved the feeling! So.. artistic and mellow. I loved the feeling it gave me, made me think I was at the fringe festival sitting around with the buskers. I look forward to reading much more of your work. Ankaria |
