Thank you, for taking the time To listen to this heart of mine. ‘Cause they said I’d be impossible And never speak a word. It was just too hard to understand, My problems deep inside. I wouldn’t speak for anyone I’d only try to hide. And I just thank you… Because you poured your heart to reach me And I thank you for knowing I could speak. I was dying, In the silence of my sorrows Left unheard, By the confusion of my pain. You understood. In humble confrontation With a hug of consolation. You showed me how to deal And you trained me how to fight. So I just thank you, For a confidence unheard of. And I thank you, For a love that wouldn’t fall. - And so it was that time stood still - (blink, breathe, stand, fight) [This message has been edited by GG (08-09-2003 02:52 PM).] |

This one touched me, Alyssa. So many people have been a blesing to me, but I need a reminder every once in a while. Excellent job on another great poem. “We are all travelers in the wilderness of this world, and the best that we can find in our travels is an honest friend.” –Robert Louis Stevenson |

Alyssa, it's good to see you back!! And this is a beautiful, heartfelt poem of gratitude. What would we do without friends and loved ones to care for us and to have confidence in us. I really loved this part of your poem.... You understood. In humble confrontation With a hug of consolation. You showed me how to deal And you trained me how to fight Hugs Ethel |

El Campeador, I always enjoy your replies, you put thought into them ..your right, so many people bless us. This one person just went beyond the call of duty, and the people around him said I'd be impossible to help. I thank God for him. Ethel, thanks for replying. Its good to be back, except that now I'm hundreds of miles away from Steven and may not be able to see him again for a year ...but anyway, that part of the poem is my favorite, too. God bless! Ankaria, thank you! I didn't put much into the thought of style or presentation of this, I just wrote what I was thinking, rough edged and all. Glad you enjoyed it. Always, Alyssa - And so it was that time stood still - |
