You could have painted a picture of our smiles We would have surpassed Mona Lisa— And I believed that “friends forever” Was more than a fanciful idea… The door between us was always open, You were always welcome in my heart— I have never understood the click That closed the door when you chose to depart But I want you to know I’m here for you, For though it hurt when you left back then, I still believe in friends forever And have opened the door to my heart again! |

Now Ben...this is wonderful! We may pain for awhile, but when we decide to open ourselves to live a little more...we never know what good things may find their way in! I do like the message within this poem! |

Ben, this is so beautiful. And this... But I want you to know I’m here for you, For though it hurt when you left back then, I still believe in friends forever And have opened the door to my heart again! ...is exactly how it should be. Hugs Ethel |

Thank you all for your replies. Sometimes it really hurts when a friend leaves, but there is often nothing that you can do except keep the door of your heart open. And hopefully they can see and respond to that and learn what true friendship is all about. “We are all travelers in the wilderness of this world, and the best that we can find in our travels is an honest friend.” –Robert Louis Stevenson |
