Wing

What shall I call it?

This baby that I birth new each day
suckles at the window
where words drop and fill,
ripe swelling warm to find
hanging from a shaft of early morn sun line.

A small hand against the pale
pulls up the gracious power with a touch
and spills it spent and fragile
in the bower lit and waiting mulch.

Many times I check the clock,
it hurries into the waiting arms of noon,
I can hear the healing music's tune,
all ready now I begin to sing,
one last push and I have given birth to wing.

Such prettily written truth!

We have to find that center of ourselves every day and give birth to it--and yes, I KNOW--grin, I can say it, I can type it, but ask me to have the discipline to DO that? chuckle...well, I'm a bit inconsistent.

Unlike you, lovely poetess.

You said said it all and more--and in metaphor too!

And a pretty thing she is, too....takes after her mother.

I can just see you, right there, doing it -- you take these regular things that all of us do, and show the magic we should have seen in them all along, if only we'd have had your spirit's eyes to see them with.

Call it magic, call it poetry, call it beauty... just keep giving birth to such excellence. *S*
