He seems to sing to me,
for she is out of my life
and i guess..i'm to blame.
For how can an angel cause pain
she was there for me when times were hard.
she said it was nothing,
just returning a favour
but to me it felt like much more
we never meant for it to end
we just wanted to be friends
but our friendship pulled us closer
too close, dangerously close.
so close that our hearts crossed the line
and our bodies begged to do the same
but our friendship stopped us cold
for it meant too much to risk.
So the tension rose
till we couldn't bare to see or hear each other,
for the pull was greater than the push and so we had to let it go
Let it all go.
so i sit and wait wait for a call
for i promised to do what it she wished
and if this is what she wants
so be it.
I'll respect her wish
no matter how much it hurts,
and boy does it hurt...
oh well.
maybe one day we can have it back
but for now i'll dry my tears
dry my tears and hope she returns
for our friendship was all i had;
and now i have nothing
i am ..Nothing.

Oh, Jamal, this hurts. It is possible to be best friends and also in love, though. My Honey and I were best friends before we fell in love...and he is still my best friend and we are still in love.
