Why, when poetry is flowing Deeply through me like Liquid stars in the night sky, Must poetry itself Seem as a waist of time? When words are screaming For release Unto the unsuspecting page And slowly boiling, churning into This hungry, silent rage... I cannot seem to grasp the words Lying just below the surface; Minnows you could spend hours just Reaching, grabbing nothing Save the water that you drink But means nothing to you now. It feels as though This page should burn And all of those before it And I just might have If it had not suddenly seemed That even that Is a waist Of precious air. Your frustration show in this one. Should that be 'waste' instead of 'waist' ? Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

Well, I can understand the sentiment, having been there a time or fifty myself.... [This message has been edited by Ratleader (09-19-2003 07:31 PM).] |

KoKo, e-mail me re: edited title. As for the poem? It seems to be a rightful rage of age...and sage. I see those minnows all the time..... A good, venting write. [This message has been edited by Sunshine (09-19-2003 10:18 PM).] |
