Someday I'm going to remember
what it was that caused me to fall for you
like one of those fancy shmansy stars
during an August summer night.

Someday I'm going to disdain
all your well hidden comments
that waited until the prey was ripe
to strike like the serpent that you are.

Someday I'm going to care
about the manipulations you put me through
in order to feed your overly large ego
and then I'll laugh
because you made me stronger
instead of tearing me down.
