![]() I wrote this for my daughter, Elysa who turns 11 today. * * * I have a picture of you When you had just begun to crawl I find it hard to believe That you were ever that small Time goes by so quickly This I know to be true But one thing that won't change Is this love I have for you You've grown up before my eyes And it's so very plain to see How very proud of you I am For you mean the world to me We may not see eye to eye But that's a mother daughter thing I just wanted you to know How much joy to me you bring So 'tho we have our differences My love remains forever true As my words spell out quite clearly How much that I love you * * * "Love, with little hands comes and touches you with a thousand memories and asks you beautiful, unanswerable questions." I am in motion I am blue Love is an ocean I'm anchored in you - Shawn Mullins [This message has been edited by Suetang (09-17-2003 11:48 PM).] |

Hi Sue, how’ve you been? I hope real good! What a nice gift to be able to give to your daughter Elysa. I’m sure that she is a wonderful little girl, and your absolute pride and joy. They really grow up fast don’t they? It doesn’t seem like 19 years ago when my oldest was born. Don’t worry about the “differences” and not seeing eye to eye. As much as that hurts, it’s just all part of the ongoing relationship between a parent and their child(ren). But then, I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about. This poem was really nice. And it reflects so much of, what it’s all about. Take care of that little daughter of yours Sue. And of your self. Richy |

Hi Elysa ... I can't believe a whole year has passed. I remember your mom writing something for your 10th birthday and now, here you are 11. I hope you have a fabulous and fun-filled day surrounded by your friends and family. Eat lots of birthday cake and ice cream. Happy Birthday, Marti in Boston |

on the other side of the looking glass, (as a daughter), what a wonderfully caring and understanding mother you are. thanks for sharing your wisdom and gentleness. you remind me a little of my mother. :Þ and even when everything was wrong, and we were mad at the world, it was still beautiful. |
