Today's Excuse Today I take my pain for a ride, meet you and try to wrap you in a warmth to make you forget. If words from these lips cannot soothe, if their pressure becomes too taut maybe they can leave a lasting imprint of acceptance. And sing of happier times when a "tug of war" was fun, and "hide-and-seek" brought laughter when found, and "double dare" was an exciting thought and I was bold enough to win. I bought a hula hoop, remember those? A champion of time and tricks back then. Now I use it to whittle away my middle, and build up stamina, as I watch the classics, only movies that make me cry so that the tears of tomorrow have excuses today. So I wake and think and write what I am thinking, because that is all there is and although it is not the way I wish to write, it is all that comes through...for now. M "Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less." |

Mark, I have a pounding headache, whether from stress and or "Isabel" on its way here. So when I can't rest or sleep until an excedrin does its job, the mind spills out the words never knowing which direction they will take. thank you hugs M [This message has been edited by nakdthoughts (09-17-2003 10:02 PM).] |

whittle away my middle.... hehe what a clever little phrase. i love the playfulness in your words, it makes it personal and real. and the person is what drives the poem. it's nice to meet you. and even when everything was wrong, and we were mad at the world, it was still beautiful. |

I read this and immediately felt alone in a big house with only memories surrounding me. To invoke a feeling such as that in a reader of your words, says much about those words. "If this grand panorama before me is what you call God...then God is not dead." |
