A porcelain doll with her flowing dark hair
Green eyes that still sparkle with light
In gown of soft velvet, silk ribbons and lace
She graces the room every night...

No hands to caress her, no soft tender words
She wishes that she could but speak
Instead she must keep her desires inside
Letting none see the tears brush her cheek...

The magic inside her still glimmers as when
She first came to be long ago
When delicate features bore promise of love
'Twas the one joy she dreamt she would know...

She passed through the years into hands that belied
All the hope that they gave at the start
They were careful and left not a mark to be seen
But such damage was done to her heart...

They kept her alone in a cold silent world
She became nothing more than a token
Just a treasure to show and impress those who looked
No one guessed that inside she was broken...

'Til one day she went to a faraway land
Where she found that a love could be real
In the right pair of hands with their soft loving touch
Her longing heart started to heal...

And now if you see her, you never would guess
that she knew any heartache at all
In her eyes love lights sparkle, and her face wears a smile
She's emerged from the old broken doll...

Are you saying it takes a doll
to know a doll?

I enjoyed this very much, Sunny...
there are layers of understanding here...

Hi Sunshine, and I like the fact that you picked up on the layers!! I guess sometimes it's more of a challenge not to write it straight out, ya know?  Thank you sun-sis!

Sunny
You clever devil you - I had to read the other comments to verify what the meaning was.  I am so glad that I knew the "old broken doll" and the "new beautiful doll".  Nicely done!

A cinderella story of the *heart.* Transformed by love that saw through to the real person she was inside. I loved this! Unfolded right before my eyes as hope for change, and second chances.

Oh yes, SharaRose, that's exactly as it is meant to be...for we all deserve second chances, and more, when it comes to love, don't you think??  Thank you for reading, and I'm glad you enjoyed!!  ~S~

Oh my, Sunny...this just reaches in
and gently touches the heart.

I always love reading you.  Everything you write
is so beautiful...I'm never disappointed.

(big hugggssssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, this touched my heart so deeply because I used to feel like a broken puppet like Pinocchio, and all I wanted was to feel like a true living and breathing boy and finally before ending my life when I felt no one could ever understand me God finally made my wish come true simply by believing in Him and so ever since I have looked to Him! (sigh) Yay, I love the happy ending, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sunnyone, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Hi lil Brother Noah!!! You'd be surprised how many of us feel like puppets, mainly because life doesn't allow for much control.  But with faith, some things can be changed for the better, and we are both proof of that, huh?  Thank you, Noah, and I love your replies!!  ~S~

Oh yes, Sunny, you know that I know this.
We have got to feel the same way inside...
our words do show our deep love for our Honey's,
don't they? Although you do say those words
so much better than I do. You know that
I love this, my friend.
Hugs
