I close my eyes A million times And still the blur prevails I seek with fingertips An escape that somehow fits Yet the path remains so clogged I touch your face And taste your grace And know the pain I hold I want that piece Taken without release To give you what you deserve I fear you will find What was left behind And see me for what I am Part of me was taken That part now forsaken Can you love the me that’s left? __________________________________________ Buttercup Training: While in the Navy I had the “opportunity” to participate in Buttercup training while stationed in Newport RI. The USS Buttercup is a simulation of a Naval ship. They throw you onboard then simulate severe damage all over that you must fix or you will sink. We sank the USS Buttercup...twice. |

KristieSue~ Thank you. My, at the time, 95lb. behind, nearly drowned that day... Karen~ Thank you. I said once in a reply to something you wrote that touched me that we were "kindred". I really believe it... ![]() Susan [This message has been edited by Susan Caldwell (08-06-2003 01:17 PM).] |

Bill~~LMAO Sadly, this made me laugh so hard....I did two years on a Sub. tender...ever do a man over board at 0300 only to find out the lookout was seeing things? Later, I was on a destroyer tender and we ran aground in the SF bay for 3 hrs....LOL...I miss the Navy! Susan |

WOW! I'm deeply impressed! I love that you can be so metaphoric and real at the same time! Keep at it, girl! I have only my genius to declare! |

Ahem...I read this and got choked up. Don't you hate that when it happens. You know what it's like. You choke back the tears and try to speak but you can't. Well that's what this did to me. It's a question I ask all the time. Wow...that's what comes to mind after the choking back finally goes away. Thanks for sharing this! Amazing!!!!! ![]() SharaRose @-->-- Of sound, and speech let all lift the hearer! [This message has been edited by SharaRose (08-14-2003 10:44 PM).] |
