they hold our future in front of us feverish and bloated. while they talk mountains of our forgotten talents. they stand above us with words like porcelain. while we lay sleeping in antique textbooks. our hands are trembling, our eyes are shifting. we smear our faces with drops of failure. while they pat our backs for participation. we spit nails at the ones we love while they recite romantic tragedies. their hands are judging, their eyes are staring. we hold their future in front of them feverish and bloated. while we talk mountains of their forgotten talents. we stand above them with words like fire. while they lay sleeping in our dirty jeans. we wake up again at 6 am to get them to school by 8. they wake up again at midnight our dreams just aren't enough. |
