As I walked alone on a lonely beach I happened along some footprints Making their way into the sunset Following them awhile down the sand It came to me I saw my own life two sets I could see, large and small A father and son hand in hand I stopped there to watch the waves Erasing each footprint in turn Turning back I chanced to see The footprints left as I strolled along And though it's been five years he's gone Two sets I could see, both adult A father and a son walking hand in hand Side by side we walked One more time We are all equal but we’re individually different |
