He calls:
always the same,
contact dashed to silence
without warning; the silver thread
that spans between us all that can still hold,
unbreakable though you must go
to him, leave me, leave us;
we love, and yet
he calls.

And such a call leaves echoes of heartbreak... in both the one who heeds the call... and the one left behind in silence.

This has too many overtones of sadness to wear the term 'beautiful' well... but it is excellent.

(big hugggsssssss) Silence can be so deafening, sweet friend, my heart goes out to all who have to face these emotionless caesuras in conversation and left worried and achin! (sad sigh) This is a very heartfelt poem, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet James, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

James

I can see the relationships within relationships, each touching each other like magic rings, part of, yet not.  A sadness in this...but very real.

James, I wonder if I'm reading
this different than the others?? It seems to me
that you are talking of someone passing
away when God calls. Am I right? If not, I still
read it that way. And, though sad, it is a
beautifully written rictameter.

I read it both ways of the relationship in silence and in the passing of a loved one.Sadness but penned well.
