When lovers touch, as lovers do,
soft spoken eyes in muted hues,
as tender lips bid welcome with
whispered words on bated breath.

The heart quickens, he touches her
With such affection, and gently stirs
their souls to touch, enchantment’s trance
that sways and sighs in true love’s dance.

When breath is slowed and passion spent,
they talk of things, their life content,
and sigh and hold each other close,
sweet kisses shared in candle's glow.

And as they share in whispered hush
awash in scented passion’s blush
breathing slows and soft eyes close
to peaceful sleep they gently doze.

He lay so still, so quietly,
Not quite asleep, though soon would be.
He turns and whispers oh so softly,
“Thou art beautiful, and I love thee.”
