Blowfish By: Noah Eaton 9/13/03 Wonder how you sleep Within the sapphire obsidian Intruding between happenstance and rhapsody Among submerging ravens And masked Bible salesmen Sliding through acryllic cobwebs Somnolent misconceptions Silver polish the white circles of your eyes And your dorsal fin feels like a broken fan And when I see you try to hold your breath And cover only half that distance I feel there's something wrong... Those barnacles you have Always afraid to show them off To try not to taste the salt of the whales Where the translucent cloak takes precedent Gazing up the turquoise chimney Punctilliously ironing the sunbeams to the abyss Beneath that urbane leather Calico and clothespinned palindromes And stained verses of praise Why must it digest this tetrodoxin Only once I hope you taste the poison Thick beyond thieves... When I see you try to hold your breath And swim only half that same distance It reminds me of myself And when I try to hold my breath Hoping this too will pass I feel the disturbance in my chest, the sting of half a crown of thorns, an injecting injunction of indebtedness. I had no choice, but to hold my own breath, in taffied catharsis. And I understand now, "I am much like you!" I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth I can see the sun set and I perceive ***Live*** [This message has been edited by Mistletoe Angel (09-13-2003 06:48 PM).] |

Noah . . . THIS is perfection in itself: When I see you try to hold your breath And swim only half that same distance It reminds me of myself And when I try to hold my breath Hoping this too will pass I feel the disturbance in my chest, the sting of half a crown of thorns, an injecting injunction of indebtedness. Goodness, me too thank you xxoo |

What an adorable pic of your alter ego! As a little girl, I used to hold my breath too! It totally freaked my Mom out!--I have had a few not-so-angelic moments in my life! lol Interesting comparisons that you have made between yourself and a blowfish! Now I'll be thinking of you whenever I see a blowfish! Huggums, Dear Anglefish!--Ooops! I mean, Dear Blowangel! Ooops! I mean... Linda |

Hello Noah I really enjoyed this very much and the picture reminded me of the movie "Finding Nemo." Have you seen it?? I just loved it. Take care.......Sue I am in motion |

Noah, this is so amazing, the way you write. And, this part is my favorite, though I like every line of the poem. Hugs, my friend Ethel |

I had to read this because of the title. And I have to reply because it blows me away-literally. Wonderful wordplay, great images. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |

Noah - I can't describe how beautiful you write of your thoughts and feelings. This is just one of the poems that show it... BC |
