Somewhere... out there...

Weathered Weave

Though often touched, unnoticed I remain
While here I stand, my mission to protect
A simple wooden frame holds me erect
While keeping watch o'er those in my domain

Some comers grace me with a gentle hand
In visit of a loved one or a friend
While others handle with a rough intend
And slam me with a lack of understand

The people come and go but never see
They look right through as if I wasn't there
And though I shield them from the harsh of glare
They take for granted my transparency

Diaphanous, I stand in weathered weave
With mesh a'rust by raindrops of my grieve

Wonderful images of a screen door, how I remember the way mine used to keep out insects until one day in anger I ripped it out and was sorry for weeks.

Vicky, I really like this. This part made
me feel sorry for the screen door.....

The people come and go but never see
They look right through as if I wasn't there
And though I shield them from the harsh of glare
They take for granted my transparency

People are treated almost like this sometimes...like look right through as though not there.
Very good writing, lady

But standing still, now and always.

An excellent blend of form and substance. Publish this somewhere -- it wants paper and many turns of a printing press.

Who knew
that a gaggle of poetic pipsters
would be writing so...
wonderfully
of screens?

Who would'a thunk?

Bravo!!! Well met indeed! and in form..lol..structure always did fascinate me..and yet my natural aversion to being constrained keeps me from writing it..

you do it well...

(big hugggssssssss) Too often do I think people look a combination of both too near-sighted through the glass or far-sighted upon the streets, failing to pick up the real indicators upon peoples faces and the sympathy they need! (sad sigh) If our perspectives can be exchanged, the world will have so much more comfortable balance, God Bless You, this is an excellent challenge, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Vicky, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Sounds like some people too..

Those that seek to protect and house are often the ones who get slammed and seldom touched gently...

much enjoyed this read
