My bed beckons me
my weary body
and racing mind
long to rest

But I am scared
to close the eyes
that keenly keep watch
over a broken spirit

I long to dream
of lifetimes past
to check the hall
that records what is next

I want the comfort
of arms from another time
show me it was predestined
and I knew how it would be

Remind me I choose
long before I become
so I may be better,
that I may stop the incarnations

of a tired soul

Oh my friend, lay down and rest well. For my spirit will watch over your body, heart, and soul. The angels are with you tonight and every other night.

Susan...Rest you soul I have some good friends and that's their job, to watch over people that need watching over. Very revealing poem. Enjoyed...Paul

'Twould be nice to look ahead
to know what is before us,
while studying the past,
only gleaning what we can
from those that walked before...

Yes... the train of write is well done..the thoughts ones with depth.. the ache real..

you out did yourself my friend.. I think one of the best for the relaxed honesty it seems to convey and the depth of questioning..

bravo!

Reads as a prayer Sue. One I know by heart too.

"Give me love. Give me love.
Give me peace on Earth.
Give me life. Give me life--
Keep me free from birth."

--George Harrison (o'course...smile)

May he, me AND you find that prayer answered--

Enjoyed.

(and as much as I miss him, I wouldn't wish him back here...)

Very well written.

Be careful of that for which you ask.

Akashic Records, Reincarnation... this poem is rich in the topics that capture my interest, but you speak from a tired, broken spirit--and that saddens me.

May you find what you are looking for in those Hallowed Halls.

Loving, healing hugs,
EA
