Mesmerized He stands upon a windy knoll Putting out the ash and coal The last of fires burning light To watch the ending of the night Yet still he sees the misty dew Blurring slowly from his view Her lovely elegance of grace Slowly vanishing into space. He cannot hold her effigy This syzygy of energy He cannot hold this wile of seem Nor can he bring to life this dream He waves his hand a bleary bye And heaves his heart a weary sigh And on his lid a tears veneer As she slowly disappears Each dark he dreams a fire bright To seem her back to him each night |
