And Life Goes On
(For the babies of 9/11)

The world, in shock, could not believe
While I, in silence, softly grieved
He and the child he’d helped conceive
For life went on

He just buried in the tomb
I held his child, safe in my womb
Though feared the future’s unknown gloom
But life went on

In the winter’s discontent
While bitter memories left me spent
Unnoticed, the days came and went
And life went on

Within my nest you, sheltered, grew
My grief and joy shared by so few
And I both loved and hated you
As life went on

You kicked; you made your presence known
Part of us both, but yet your own
Planted in love, in sorrow grown
And life went on

Till slowly my grief was replaced
With dreams of how your tiny face
Would look like his and mine both laced
As life went on

Then one day in springs warm morn
Wailing, kicking, you were born
Out of the past, the future torn
And life goes on

...Let us never forget

Thank you, Ruth.  I knew you'd come across with a tender memory and you never let me down...and you didn't, now.  Every generation has something, doesn't it?  But I've had enough now...thank you.

Ruth, I do miss reading your stuff.  There are so many families out there, struggling to move on still.  Great write.

Goes on, continues, but never the same as it was or would have been. It is the shame of the world and of the human race that there are such people in it.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Ruth, life indeed goes on, and it saddens me to think how some people can be so cold and hurtful like that, and at the same time others just find clumsy excuses and ricochet the harm back! (sad sigh) As much as I hate to see people terrorizing one another and harm many innocent people, I also hate to see violence being the answer in response, so it deeply saddens me that somehow many learned nothing from 9/11! (wipes tears) I keep praying that as life goes on, so will sanity, God Bless You, America, and the world, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ruth, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

How very sad Ruth...but yes, life does go on.
Very powerful...very!

Ruth...no words to do this justice.
Thank you for sharing this...
