My grandmother died yesterday at the tender age of 98. My grandfather went three years earlier. God bless them both. Adios, dear fire painted viejitos No more time to scoff at compliments No more leche in my precioso coffee Or Midnight tacos - Oh how sabrosos! Can't dress me in Old Lady garbs You can't talk You're both gone I miss your lumpy, tequila skin Aroz and frijoles smiles I miss being Mexican The way you taught me to be My grandparents - Dead Good bye cajeta dreams I have only my genius to declare! |

Thank you all. It was difficult to write. I've been hurting for 2 days now. I love them so much. |
