september's a bridge
on the journey to fall,

of vacancies at windows
where songbirds would call,

of autumn's crayolas,
wine and amber tinged leaves,

before they will wither
to the frost that fall weaves,

the shawl of the sunlight,
warms the now cooler breeze,

sands beneath feet,
blissful shore, tourist free,

september's sweet sonnet,
twilight's hush before dark,

a reflection and a pause,
on the transition to stark

Michele..you have penned this one perfectly.
Your timing on the changing seasons couldn't be better.
Lovely imagery brought this one to life.

Michele, this is beautiful. I love the way you rhymed this one, too. I hope you are putting all your seasonal poems in a special place....I know that I am...if that's okay with you.

Yes, not stark yet. It will be, but still there's a little time, a last few days to get it all in, be ready for what comes.

A very sensitive piece of writing, with so many dimensions. Well done.

As I often find too many great lines to quote in your works, the feeling conveyed was priceless.

Michele...this is just beautiful, my friend.
I particularly love the reference to crayolas.
Wonderfully penned.

Ohh Michele,
what beautiful style you have here
this is perfection and ahhh sound quite peaceful there on those Jersey shores

sands beneath feet,
blissful shore, tourist free,

september's sweet sonnet,
twilight's hush before dark,
