JUST FREEBIES So, I wrote a book of poetry Then, wrote number two and three A lot of work and expense To be given away, free. But, poetry is "a hard sell" Sometimes, hard to understand It don’t always send the message Just the way, that you had planned. A true poet bares his heart and soul For all the world to see A lot of life, and living To be given away, free. Some people won’t believe And many others, just won’t look To find the secrets hidden In each crack, cranny, and crook. There’s the secrets of Mankind The Earth and Sky and Sea Everything, in this world To be given away, free. But, those words mean nothing If they’re kept locked away If nobody hears the thoughts And words, you have to say. Poetry that’s been written Throughout mans’ history Wasn’t written for profit, but To be given away, free. 9-8-2003 Del "Abe" Jones |

Abe this is SO true! On my shelf next to me here, are books from friends that they have made up and given away to be read. It warms my heart when I go to a library and see someone even holding a poetry book, and knowing they get to learn and read all their soul needs for free. Very nicely done. Carpe' Diem |

Abe, I happen to know that the above poet makes her own books of her favorite poets! Truth! Keep this up, and she'll start one on you, too! By the way? Know exactly what you mean, and enjoyed it ever so much! |
