Be As the Wind Be as the wind, and flutter through the leaves For nothing fills the soul as do the trees With murmuring and rustling of a dream That swirls through shady parasols of green Be as the oak in times of joy or grief As seasons come and go, so does the leaf Its hues of glory turn and spin around And fall to sudden silence on the ground Then be as barren branches in the cold And make of winter, beauty to behold Just as an elm in January’s wind That gathers icy white on twig and limb Be as the whispers in the April rain For teardrops are the nourishment to pain Then as the apple blossoms of the spring Unfold your vibrant heart to dance and sing Be as the warmth and coldness of the breeze Be as the changing seasons of the trees Elizabeth Santos September 7, 2003 |

Liz, like all your poems, this too is sensational. You have such a feel and love of nature and it comes roaring through in your words. For nothing fills the soul as do the trees How very, very true! Hugs dear lady, Marti Hear Blessings dropping their blossoms all around you. |
