+*+*+*+*+

As a child, I viewed life through
the proverbial rose-coloured glasses.
I wanted everything to be beautiful
and magical, and if it were not, my
imagination would create the world
that I wanted to see.I accomplished
this through my paintings, stories,
songs and poetry. As an adult, often
faced with the harsh realities of life,
I take the time to reconnect with that
little girl that still resides within me.
Pessimism is then replacd with optimism
and sadness turns to joy.
Through poetry, I am able to create
the world I want to see.My pen
becomes my paint brush and a
veritable extension of my soul.
As I write each poem, I don the rose-
coloured glasses once more, and am
filled with wonder as I revisit those
magical days of my childhood.

As with any art, interpretation is always in the eye of the beholder.  I behold you, as if looking in a mirror.  But you make me enjoy what I see looking back!

To be a child again, without all the worries of the world, that would be wonderful. I am so glad you can call on your childhood to make things right, that is a gift in itself.
Thank you for sharing your rose coloured glasses, I very much enjoyed the fantacy of goodness and the beauty that poetry can give.

Sincerely
Rick

Dear Glorious Orb of Light, that is one of the most flattering comments that I have ever received. Thank you from the bottom of my poetic heart.

~ May I be fortunate enough to see your reflection whenever I peer into a looking glass of poetic thoughts.

And you give each of us who read you, the opportunity to revisit our childhood, too, through your writing.  I always look forward to your magical works.  Like sax!  tee hee

P.S. I have an extra pair of rose-coloured glasses that you may borrow whenever you have need of some child-like wonder!

(smiles) Oh Linda, I couldn't agree with you more, life is so much happier when you speak with the tone of the child in your heart and I only wish everyone could live like that, as I believe adults can learn so much from their children as I believe God made us born as children and not adults because He wants us to love, and to love he wants us to hold true our innocence! (big hugggsssssss) Oh Linda, every time you call me "angel boy" it always brings tears of joy to my eyes because that is just how I want my loved ones and friends to see me as, God Bless You, Earthly Cherub, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Martie ~

I had a very strict, but loving, up-bringing. I wasn't allowed to "give attitude" or have a bad one! Having a "beautiful attitude" keeps me out of trouble--and makes ,and the people around me, happier!

Linda, that is one reason I love your poetry. You are always becoming a little girl again through your pen. And so often the enthusiasm of a little girl can touch the heart sooner than the logic of an adult.

It is such a shame we have to don those glasses, but alas our reality has become tainted. I liked your poem.

El_C ~

I swear I come from a long line of Peter Pans. Everyone looks sooo young for their age--and act like it as well! My grandmothers were absolutely adorable. My Dad's Mom loved to play pool and shot with the best of them. My great grandmother went for a wheelbarrow ride down a steep hill when she was well up in her eighties!--and she was still bombing around on the back of my uncle's motorcyle!

In our family, we don't look for the child within--we look for the adult! lol

Loving hugs 'n smiles,
EA

Linda, I hope I am following in your footsteps. I do tend to write with a positive outlook on life, and try to write with the imagination that children have. After all, I have a young grandmother as well...
