Beneath the azure sea lies a wealth of diversity
circling this globe called Earth,
which a Powerful Being did birth
for some unkown reason.
Most of the life and beauty in the seas
lives and dies its cycle of life
unseen by human eyes.
It has its own seasons,
mostly invisible to us
who dwell upon the land.
And there must be reasons
beyond our ability
to understand the why.
This Powerful Being also
gave us humans a season
we could observe yearly,
we choose to call it
Fall.
The word slips from the lips
as gently as the falling leaves
leave the trees,
covering the ground below
in rich blankets of rusty browns,
fiery reds, burnt oranges,
golden sunshine yellows atop faded greens.
Fall.
A time to review as well as say thanks
for the bounty of the harvests,
as we look forward (sometimes apprehensively)
to the chilled white blankets of winter.
As I sit here and think of the changing seasons,
I ponder what the Powerful Being’s reasons were
for setting all these cycles in motion.
And it suddenly occurs to me
that this Being
must be an artist at heart.
