Enter I
the sacrifice
feet first in the metal mouth
blind
behind
a shroud denied
mechanics
of the teeth that see...

rear view mirror
cautioning
objects that appear too close
tap you on the shoulder
smile
granting you
the groin-knee'd greet.

Life behind the fold of blind--
I see color in the cloud--
suggesting pinks
of blues turned green
lions are mere mockery
Daniel was my brother once--
where is he? oh where
I see

There! The sun!
(shining on me?)
Nothing
no thing
harms me now--
I have angels in this dream.

Gavel
sounds the judge
in seek--
smack
decision
of jury
Foreman I pray
grant reprieve
tell me...
"What be done with me?"

Shall my wishes all be grant,
death I welcomed willingly--
begging now that I retract
and write a better end.

Bargaining.

A beggar's speech.

convict
crying "parity"
Ignore the distances
I see--
the spaces walled humanity--
the jury did not look at me--

I knew and etched the lines in stone.

A lifetime played
upon the stage
as I waited for review...

knowing,
opening--we closed.

ahh far from a beggars speech, My Lady K
this is eternal beauty in itself:

There! The sun!
(shining on me?)
Nothing
no thing
harms me now--
I have angels in this dream.

yes and may they always bless you

*shaking me mothy head at you*

what you do with metaphors is mind boggeling...just in the first two verses of this alone had me going..then you play your theme of intend out to the aching end with the mastery of cryptic, haunting Poe story telling.

(you rock and it rolls me)

When was the last time you felt this high,
you are the best I've ever felt.
Its so wrong not to be with you
Its getting harder to stay away.

Oh Karen, I was going to quote some of these wonderful
lines of yours, but found I'd be quoting the whole poem.
I'm keeping this to read over and over, SereneOne.

I'm in awe of you.The way you use metaphors and the way you write with so much conviction is truly amazing to see.

First you take me here,
then you turn the corner
and disappear
appearing behind
in taking me there...

I think we need
to duet...

How I missed this ditty I have no idea, but yup, you sort of make one's jaw drop open sometimes, and this was one of them.  No point in picking out a line, as they were all meant to be together
