As silence reigns supreme, Is this a nightmare or a dream? Where darkness engulfs my sight, I cry for some respite. Sweet mercy is what I seek, So, No longer am I rendered weak. You would think after all this time, My mind would be accustomed to all this violence and crime. Flashbacks of jogging under the moon, I thought I was totally immune. With my tall muscular frame, Arrogantly untouchable I became. Then from out of the mist, A gun totting gang hissed. Drug induced and victims of abuse, They seek no reason or excuse. Echoes of the triggered gun still haunt, Where deafness and blindness does taunt. |
