I have Wilmer's worried eyes--
ropes that braid a red palming--
and the seat he constant hacked
trying to make it spin just so...

I have almost everything--
but the thing I can't let go.
I still have my mother's smile--
retaining her sensed vertigo.

I have a space between my toes--
there--another--should be grown.
There is foreign fertile loam
achieving the impossible...

There, the valley begs a witch.

There.

The valley shouts the itch.

Where?

He calls to me at dusk--

as I splay the nodes with knife.

it's that second line
in the first stanza
that yanked me back in
to read three times...

and still, I cannot find the right words.

Karen, I love this part......

I have almost everything--
but the thing I can't let go.
I still have my mother's smile--
retaining her sensed vertigo

I dont understand this poem's meaning but I enjoyed it nonetheless.  And it was nice to find my name in it, at least part way.  Again good poem.
