Stilted and enclosed I hold myself in with arms too long used for embracing the world and never self. While hands too used to helping and not being helped clasp frantically together to stop their trembling; for I am a rock, silent, unyielding, and as cold as stone A heart, fearful old and near dead lies within pierced by pain and yet hidden by a smile that shows naught but perfect acceptance perfect serenity. While the mind screams NO! in silent protest at the injustices of life Sleeplessness carries me through the night and the stillness of darkness, allows me freedom to unbend; and cry bitter tears of anxiety and guilt for all the could haves, should haves, would haves but never did Would that I could forever, throw off the shroud of conformity that binds me mewls me to patterns long ago learned and unchangeable. However as day begins I wind myself once again in the grave clothes that suffocate me subdue me to allow function and form that is stilted and enclosed ...as am I in mute point Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Beloved heart this is truly outstanding, yes I know exactly where your thoughts are. However I still say you should have posted the others, listen to your agent darling one how am I supposed to earn a crust if you insist of hiding your light under a bushel? Mmmmm Shine, shine, shine, beloved one. You know where my thoughts and prayers are, take care of you beloved one, and please stop outshining me, you know I can't take the competition and forever Slushy Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds |

I hold myself in with arms too long used for embracing the world and never self. While hands too used to helping and not being helped clasp frantically together to stop their trembling; These fill me with the heartbreak of knowing... Excellent, powerful work! |

Kethry...Fantastic write. Very visual poem and so touching. Sleeplessness carries me through the night and the stillness of darkness, allows me freedom to unbend; and cry bitter tears of anxiety and guilt for all the could haves, should haves, would haves but never did I Love these lines...Paul "To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you" |
